Paper Smooches Sparks challenge - may 13th-19th Designer challenge

Hey there out there!, Today i have a cute card i created for the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge this week.

the Challenge was Designer Crafts....

 And the sketch is shown below.

I decided to go down the chalkboard/painting theme with the sketch ans those banners were just calling out to be used as paint drips! and i had a new Paper Smooches set called i heart art which i had not opened yet.

Here is the card i created.

As you can see i made a chalk effect board which i stamped with staz on white opaque ink, dried then re stamped with embossing ink pad and embossed with white powder. When embossing the black card i made sure that some of the left over embossing powder stuck too so it looked like left over chalk. then i grabbed my copic markers and coloured in parts of the embossed images.
i lastly made a little paint tube and coloured it, cut it out and adhered it to the black card, i know your are saying you would not use paint on a chalk board! well a little creative licence did not hurt anyone :)

I clear embossed the paint brushes at the bottom then layered the black card onto brown card to make the "chalkboard" frame.
A few blotches of extra white ink and the card was complete!!

Some Odd Girl ODD IDOL...... i made it to round 2!!!

Hello there everyone!
Well i am super excited!! i made it to round 2 of Some odd Girl Stamps - ODD IDOL
We are now down to 20 people and we were given the theme of friendship. with this theme the top 20 have to create a project to enter.

THEN IT IS YOUR TURN!!!!! You have to go on over to the Some Odd Girl Ning Community either sign in or join, then on the top bar there is a tab for odd idol, voting will take place there! vote for your favorite ! This is a blind voting so no one knows whos project is whos, you have to just pick your favorite, so sorry i cannot tell you which ones mine :( but pick your fav! and then on the 15th May the top 15 will go to the next round!!!!!

Have you entered ODDIDOL?????

hey there everyone!!! i have been a little slack of late posting here on the blog due to me running a charity auction over at Custom blues for autism charity auction where my second passion has come into play and i have got 17 indie polish makers from around the world to donate a one of a kind custom blue nail polish and auction it off to raise funds and awareness for Autism and ASPECT Australia.
So busy busy busy!!! Between that and doing a bunch of work for practical publishing. i jsut have not had the time to post :(
But today i want to share with you something really special!!!!

Yep the first ever ODD IDOL. a great competition where you take a sketch cre create it and post on their gallery.

I am about to enter my card. fingers crossed! im a huge fan of Some odd girl and just love everything they create!!!!

Paper smoochesSparks challenge cool shades 18-24th march

This week at Paper smooches SPARKS challenge is ..........

And the cool shades we were given were.........

So with these colours in mind i grabbed my paper smooches stamp sets and set to work!

Here is what i came up with.......

I used a bunch of Paper Smooches products to create this card. i started with the new AWESOME wise dies! i used Duo Die 3 to create the frame ,then stamped the scene with Zoo Crew,Surf and Turf and Metropolis. then layered the frame i cut out to give some depth.
I then took a my favourite things arrow die and cut a window in my card to create my sentiment.
I used Paper smooches Good Jab and Alphadot stamp set to make the sentiment.
I just felt doing this gave a little more dimension to the card.
And of course i coloured with copic markers :)

A quick St Patricks day card.

Happy St Patricks Day everyone!!

As it is St paddies day i thought i would share a quick card i made up using some TAWSstamps/

I really do not have many stamps that fit in with the theme but one of my TAWS sets called Cover Ups had a cute heart stamp i could use for a clover!

I simply just stamped the heart 4 times then used one of the sentiments as the stalk! added a bit of glitter glue and some twine, rounded the bottom corner and i was done.

It only took a few mins and looked quite effective :)
